Who can take lessons?
Children from around four years old and adults of any age — complete beginners, returning players and advanced students. Every lesson is one-to-one and tailored to the student's age, level and goals, so no prior experience is needed.
Where do the lessons take place?
In your own home. Our teachers travel to students' homes across Dubai, so there is no travelling, no traffic and no waiting rooms — just focused one-to-one lessons at a time that suits your family.

We teach students in their homes across Dubai. Send us a message with your area and we'll confirm teacher availability near you.
Which instruments do you teach?
Piano, violin, guitar (classical, acoustic, electric and bass), singing, flute and drums. Each instrument is taught by a professional musician who specialises in it.
How often should lessons take place?
One lesson a week is the essential minimum, so that skills keep building steadily from one lesson to the next. For the best progress, we recommend two lessons a week: more regular time with a teacher builds technique faster, keeps motivation high and makes a real difference when preparing for exams.
Can I book a trial lesson?
Yes. A trial lesson at home is the best way to meet your teacher, see how lessons work and agree on goals together. Contact us or send us a WhatsApp message to book yours.
Do I need my own instrument?
Yes — students need an instrument at home to practise on between lessons. If you don't have one yet, your teacher will happily advise on what to buy or rent for the student's age and level.
How long are lessons?
Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. As a guide: 30 minutes for young beginners, 45 minutes at intermediate level and 60 minutes for advanced students.
How much do lessons cost?
Lesson fees depend on the length of the lesson and your location in Dubai, as the distance our teacher travels to your home is reflected in the price. Contact us for current rates and we'll recommend the best option for your child.
What if I need to cancel a lesson?
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for lesson cancellations, otherwise the lesson fee will still apply. We understand that emergencies may arise and will work with students to reschedule missed lessons when possible.
Do you prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool exams?
Yes. Our teachers offer structured preparation for ABRSM, Trinity College London and Rockschool (RSL Awards) practical and theory exams, from Initial Grade to Grade 8 and beyond. Exams are always optional — lessons can simply focus on the joy of making music.
Do students get to perform?
Yes. MJ Strings students have the opportunity to take part in concerts and performance events throughout the year — a wonderful way to build confidence and celebrate progress.
